Who the heck is working on this thing?
Dragons Keep is a MMORPG that is being made by a couple of indie devs that are just looking to prove what they can do, and expand on personal knowledge. The team consists of SyntaxJedi, who is the game developer and handles the bulk of coding for the game itself. From combat, movment, enemy AI to inventory, character stats and loot, Syntaxjedi takes care of all the nerdy junk. Then there is DeadLink, who not only made this site you are currently on, but also deals with most of the server, networking, security, and game design. DeadLink will also be incharge of game polish, fps improvments, publishing, and such. Since both of us are trash 3D artists, we do have to rely on buying assests and hiring VFX artists for a few things, but everything else is just the two of us.
What is Dragons Keep about?
The theme of the game is a pretty standard RPG, you are the hero, and there is evil in the world that you aim to defeat in exchange for loot. As most indie devs, we are looking to make the game we have always wanted to play, but could never find. We love other MMOs like WoW, Aion, Fiesta, and AQ3D, but wanted something that combinds a bit from each of those and other elementsl of our own.
So what kind of gameplay will this be like?
Maps are going to be instanced based, but it is still open world. Its a 3rd Person, Tab Targeting / light action combat style of game. We currently plan on having 3 classes, and a array of weapons to choose from. More on this below.
We want to make a fun questing experience that is enjoyable for more than one play through, and put a big push on making sure you feel like you are becoming more powerful in the world.
Once you pick your class, you can wear any armor and any weapon. Each class will have their own class specific skills, and the armor and weapons you use will have their own as well. Allowing you to build your own version of that class.
Dungeons, Raids, Crafting, and Gathering will be where you spend most of your time.
Brawler - Warrior like class

Skill 4 | Blessings | 20% more damage and faster cast times for X seconds, affects all alleys near you |
Skill 5 | Meator Shower | Aoe of Fireballs, leaves fire on ground. |
Passive 1 | Recovery | Mana Regen from auto attacks |
Passive 2 | Safe Distance | when you are x meters away from an enemy, you do more damage. |

Night Stalker - Rouge like class
